Walking Tours

Having recently gained a degree in Tourism management and extensively working in the Edinburgh tourism industry I feel that I have the passion and knowledge to show you around! I specialised my final year thesis paper on the phenomenon that is Harry Potter and how it relates to Scottish tourism.

Harry Potter Walking Tour

Come with me muggles and explore where J.K. Rowling gained the inspiration for her global phenomenon. Visit the grave of "he who must not be named", the cafe's where she sat and wrote the beginnings of Philosophers Stone and where she finished the series in the realms of luxury.

We'll discover the streets and secret alleyways of the Old Town area of Edinburgh, starting at Edinburgh Castle, then we'll wander down to "Diagon Alley" and find the gravestones of some well known names in the Harry Potter series. We'll also spot "Hogwarts School" of Wizardry and find where the writer found her inspiration from. Following onto the famous and not so famous cafes that J.K.  Rowling began her writing career and finish in the realms of luxury outside the Balmoral Hotel.

"If you do anything in Edinburgh do this. Kat is a knowledgeable guide with a great sense of fun and you will enjoy a uniquely special tour. she successfully blended Edinburgh and Harry Potter folklore. Highly recommended".

Tanja, April 2019

"The tour with Katrina was really great, she showed us all the special places connected with the Harry Potter story but she did also explain critcically some of the myths about J.K. Rowling. She showed interest in the group and gave us time to ask questions or take photos.

As she has deep insight into the Harry Potter origin and connections to Scotland she could give us more than the usual information and was always trying to give us true facts . She also added her personal ideas and opinions which was really great".

Grace, April 2019.

"Katrina was an amazing guide! She knew the city very well and it's history. She only runs small groups so you will really have an active participation. You won't regret joining her small tour group".
